Cathy Conover, part of Keshet’s employment program at Camp Chi, reflects on her creative and rewarding experience working in the art studio.
I am enjoying art in the art studio for many reasons. For example, I loved making a bead lizard. Plus, I enjoyed sweeping the floor. I also liked washing the paint brushes. This is why I enjoyed working in the art studio. I did many jobs in the art studio. I made signs for pool rules, the art studio and art safety. Plus, I learned one machine is called a sublimation. I even decorated the walls with handprints. That is all the work I did in the art studio.
Weather always makes me happy. Some kids in art didn’t like the weather because there were thunderstorms. I didn’t leave the art studio because it was safe. I was doing art with the little kids during the storms so they can enjoy their time.
I had a great session at the art studio. For example, I liked taking out the trash and the cardboard. I also liked drawing a 4th of July pie. Plus, it was fun giving people a tour of the art studio. Those are all reasons why I enjoyed my session at the art studio. I also sharpened pencils and wiped the tables to keep myself busy. Max, my supervisor, has asked me to help with various activities. I have learned to make a bead lizard from Max. Thank you for everything you’ve done.
