Keshet’s Weekend Adventure Camp brought the magic of overnight camp into a spring weekend filled with friendship, fun and new experiences. While Keshet offers longer overnight sessions in the summer, this weekend gave kids and teens a chance to try it out and experience camp in that same supportive setting.
For some campers, it was their very first time away from home.
“I’m new to overnight camp! It’s just scary being at the new place,” one camper shared. “The zip line was a little scary. I conquered my fear and tried my best…and I got to drive the boat! Green heart 💚 to show I love it here!”
With caring staff and a nurturing environment, campers were supported every step of the way as they tried new things and settled into a new space.
The weekend was packed with classic camp activities, from boating and hiking to music, games and time spent together in cabins. Campers explored, laughed and created so many memories in just two days.
“Yes, I would come back,” another camper shared. “I played games, puzzles. I listened to guitar. I had fun!”
While campers were building independence and friendships, families were also feeling the impact of the weekend.
“Keshet gave me 36 hours this weekend of respite care for my child to spend a weekend away with his friends. And I got to have a long overdue dinner with just my other kids…we needed it.”
That time to recharge, even briefly, made a real difference. Knowing their child was safe, supported and happy allowed caregivers to take a step back and focus on themselves or other family members.
Weekend Adventure Camp may only have lasted a few days, but the impact went far beyond the weekend. Campers returned home with new confidence, new memories and a readiness for even more independence in the future. This weekend was just a small taste of overnight camp, but the magic was still very real. And we’re just getting started—we can’t wait for what Summer 2026 will bring!
