Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2/3 cup margarine
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk (can use soy or almond milk)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Sugar or sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- Beat the margarine on medium speed until softened. Add the sugar and beat until fluffy.
- Add the egg, milk and vanilla extract. Beat well to combine.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, beating until fully combined.
- Cover the dough and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Grease a cookie sheet or line with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough to ¼” thickness and cut with Chanukah-shaped cookie cutters.
- Sprinkle with sugar or sprinkles of your choice. Dip the cutters in flour between cookies to prevent sticking.
- Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until light brown.
