Let's get together

Keshet brings together adults from all over our community for recreation and social gatherings. These programs are open to all adults who are 21+, with and without disabilities. Whether this is your first time at Keshet or your one hundredth, we hope you’ll join in on the fun.

All programs have a 1:1-1:3 support ratio.

Sundays | Baseball - Adults Only

Let’s play ball! Keshet Baseball with Coach Dean is back in full-swing for players and volunteers of all ages and abilities.

Mondays | Art with Open Studio

Create a masterpiece or a mess-terpiece using mixed media and your imagination. Open Studio Project’s philosophy is all about giving everyone the tools to discover themselves through art. Their creative process consists of journaling, self-reflection and art-making. Artists will gain skills in painting, drawing, collage, sculpture and more.

Tuesdays | Growing Together with Yachad

Join Keshet and Yachad Chicago to plant, harvest, weed, water and garden together. Produce harvested is sent home with participants to enjoy the fruits of their labor. No gardening experience is necessary, just a desire to spend the afternoon outdoors with friends in the garden.

Tuesdays | Special Olympics Golf

Tee up on Keshet’s first-ever golf team! Through adapted equipment, modified rules, and a supportive environment, Special Olympics athletes develop their skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of golfing.  All participants will show off their skills in a competition hosted by Special Olympics Illinois on July 31st. Please only sign up for golf if you can compete in the games.

Wednesdays | Special Olympics Bowling

Get ready to aim for the perfect strike with one of the most popular Special Olympics sports–bowling! Athletes receive coaching, adaptations and encouragement to develop their skills and compete at their best. All participants are eligible to compete with Keshet in the Special Olympics Illinois bowling tournament on August 10th. Participants will need to provide their own transportation to and from the competition. Please only sign up for bowling if you can compete in the games.

Thursdays | Body Groove

Get pumped for a fun group dance and exercise class that nurtures the mind, body, heart and soul. Participants of all fitness levels can enjoy the freedom to move their bodies in a way that feels natural to them. With energizing music and a focus on fun, Body Groove classes empower individuals to embrace their individuality and celebrate the joy of movement.

Adler Planetarium

Get ready to expand your horizons and embark on a stellar adventure through space! We will take the train, eat lunch at Ogilvie and Uber to and from the museum.

Sunday Nature Walk & Lunch

Immerse yourself in nature at the Chicago Botanic Garden! We will look at the beautiful flowers, plants and landscapes. After exploring the garden, we’ll all get lunch together at Mizrahi Grill. Lunch is included in the price.

Adult Trip to the Wisconsin Dells

Let’s go to the “Waterpark Capital of the World,” aka the Wisconsin Dells! Whether you are a thrill-seeker or prefer to unwind at the spa, we’ve planned activities that everyone is bound to enjoy. This trip is designed for adults 22+.

All of Keshet’s Adult Social & Recreation Programs are open to people of all abilities and adults throughout our community. We encourage people who have never attended a Keshet program before to join in on the fun. Most activities have a 3:1 or 4:1 participant to staff ratio.

Fee assistance

Need-based fee assistance is available for Keshet’s adult recreation programs. Families will indicate their interest in receiving assistance when they register online. Our team will then be in touch with you about next steps. Contact Katherine at 847.205.1234 for more information.
