Passover is here, and at Keshet, the holiday is Dayenu—so much learning, tasting, creating and celebrating, it feels like it could never be enough! Passover commemorates the story of the Jewish people’s liberation from slavery in Egypt, and all of Keshet’s programs are finding creative ways to engage with the holiday. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to across our community!
Sunday School & Beit Midrash
Keshet Sunday Schoolers explored Passover through interactive learning. One standout activity was creating sensory seder plates using past instructions from Keshet, which allowed them to connect with the holiday in a hands-on way.

Day School
By far the highlight for Day School students was participating in a full reenactment of the Passover story, where they got to wear costumes and reenact crossing the Red Sea. They also explored the Seder plate through tasting activities, created arts and crafts inspired by the 10 plagues, and played word and memory games to learn Passover vocabulary and symbols.

High School
High school students attended a class with the Model Matzah Bakery, where they created their own matzah from scratch with local Chabad rabbis. They also hosted a mock seder, tasting traditional foods from gefilte fish to horseradish and exploring each item’s significance.

Transition
During morning group, Transition students watched an animated short film about the Passover story and then discussed what the holiday means. They also made sensory seder plates and created to make their own matzah from scratch!

GADOL
Adults at GADOL were busy prepping for the holiday, from cooking matzo ball soup to preparing their space for those observing the holiday. Interested team members participated in a Melton Jewish learning unit about Pesach and some even took a trip up to Bonim Farms in Milwaukee to harvest microgreens like parsley and bitter herbs for their Seder plates.

MY Life
Leading up to the holiday, MY Life partnered with Maot Chitim to deliver food to ensure families in need have what they need for their Passover seder. On the second night of Passover, residents got together to celebrate with a special seder at one of their homes.

We’ve loved celebrating Passover with everyone at Keshet. See more of our Passover celebrations on Facebook and Instagram. Chag Sameach!
